Since it was my wife's card and not mine that was hit, I had no control over the situation. I have warned her from day one, when she first came to the US and started applying for credit, that something like this would happen if she didn't keep an active monthly watch on her statements/bills. The $10 slipped by, but she finally did notice it on a month where she made few purchases.
I'm glad there's a class action in the works. These people need to be sued out of business. It's criminal not to notify someone clearly that their card will be double-billed with only one entry for payment at point of sale. My wife's language is not English, so it's harder for her to read all the fine print in these scam offers.
I think the site that referred her was some flower vendor.
Merrit 7 is those new buildings they put up in the 80s just north of Glover Ave. I used to work down there in the late 1950s, but I don't drive down there much anymore. |
