"In" network test

Is there a way I can test my throughput to a machine located inside the CenturyTel network (maybe here in Alabama) I suspect I'm having latency issues due to my ISp having a lack of bandwidth. I would really like to prove this to them. It may very well end up being on the backbone connected to my Dslam. I have no way of knowing though

Are you just having slow download/upload speeds, or is your connection just not very responsive? Throughput and latency aren't the same. If you're looking for latency spikes, try ping plotter. It's a nice little utility that can constantly monitor and give you graphical representations of the trace route to a particular site. It helps give you an idea of where a slow down may exist in the network.

If your issue is throughput, then it is possible there is an over-subscription, or it could be that there is a t1 span that is taking errors, or even down altogether, and the remaining spans are having to work extra hard to spread the bandwidth evenly among the subscribers.

Do your modem line stats look ok?

Yep, My modem stats are fine compared to examples I have found here. I will look into the ping plotter when I get home. I'm still observing issues between 7:30pm and 9:30pm most evenings. Ty for the info.
