Actiontech Router---- Router Settings question...

Where in the router settings do we have the setting to control whether we allow automatic firmware updates or not?

Thanks!!!

Verizon has the ability to push new firmware to your router.
The following link explains how to disable it.

There was some debate as to if closing that port alone actually prevented the updates.
In addition to closing port 4567 here’s a screen shot I captured from DSLreports which are the steps I followed to prevent the updates I’m flashed my router shortly after 4.0.16.45.160 came out, I’m still at that version. My router is on 24/7 so it seemed to have worked.

just_for_fun,

You're right, just closing port 4567 does not prevent updates. However, (cwmp (enable(0) does seem to keep the updates from occurring, at least so far.

I’m still at 4.0.16.45.160 and I made the edit once I seen that post go up. that was on/or May 2007 so I don't see any auto updates coming my way anytime soon. I wish I didn't cut the top of the post so we could give the member credit.

EDIT:
For some this might not be a good idea because they require the Xbox or wireless patch, I have neither. All I care about is when I do a port security scan there are no holes and I could run my VoIP adapter and port forward some other services
