Of the three most common unlicensed bands, 900 has the least freespace loss and so has a broad coverage area. The Canopy SM you showed a photo of in your other thread is with a Stinger antenna. The stinger is not the longest range antenna available. An M2 yagi would go farther.

What is your total distance from the nearest tower? They show two towers but I don't know what the scale is so cannot tell what their radius of coverage is. Also, do you have line of sight to one of their towers?

LOL...No way is that even possible 1,000s of trees are in the way...

The tower is 200ft tall at an Elevation of 900ft, I live at around 600ft Elevation...If that helps anyone...

You really should join the forum rather than post annoymously. It is free to join and then the system won't hold your posts.

I'm guessing that the radius shown is about 6 miles and good LOS can do more than twice that. You really need to better describe NLOS.

With that many trees there is not a hope in hell. 900MHz can only get through a few trees.

If you can post the GPS coords, I could check the terrain.

Google Maps ky-1479 to Morris Hill Rd...

OK, that puts me in the general area where the tower is but not knowing where you are, I don't know where to look.

BTW, you can get the GPS coords from google by centering the map on the location (double-click the spot). Then just right-click on the "link to this page" tool and copy shortcut.

Well... if I got the GPS coords right, this is an impossible shot over that height of land.

I own most of the woods behind My House...

Could I set up a CHEAP Access Point on top of a tree or something?

I know I would have LOS of my House and the Tower if I climbed a tree...

Did I get your laocation about right? Do you own any of the land that is coloured red or yellow? How do you intend to get power up there?

You didn't give me axact GPS coords for the tower. How tall is the tower AGL?

That is a significant hill near you and you don't have trees taller than the hill unless you own the hill. I've got you at about 318 metres ASL and the that hill along the LOS is 428 metres. That is a net difference of 110 metres (360 feet)! Thi e first picture shows the impossible shot from the tower to your house.

If you know someone on the road to the west of you, there is a high point of 445 metres ASL that could host a relay but you still need to get up above the trees. The second picture shows the possible relay point and your house.
