1 edit | For me, no because I am stuck. I have to go back to dialup (3 KB/sec even on 56k modems -- sucky phone lines and systems ever since GTE days) since there are no alternatives (e.g., DSL is 20K ft. from CO, can't get Verizon FIOS and I am in Verizon area), slow and low-cost broadband services (ISDN service is slow and about 100 bucks a month), no WISPs, etc.). |

| reply to Anonymous_ It all depends on how expensive the service levels are. If I'm going to be paying out the nose then hell yes I'll switch. But if my bill doesn't go up and I never hit my quota then I don't see a problem. Maybe I'd even end up paying less... although that's a long shot with the cable company.
There's a lot to be said for the pay-per-usage model as it's how almost every other utility operates: phones, electricity, gas, even roads are paid for with tolls and gas taxes. |

| reply to Anonymous_ Of course. I can get Verizon FIOS now. But I don't. Two family members have it and it is unbelievable how much better the service and picture is.
This would just be the point which would make me switch. -- "There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots" |

If they do this and the price is too high screw them im one less on there node. No dsl or anything for me so for me guess to do something else beside the internet and AVOID TW all together. |

| reply to Anonymous_ I will absolutely switch if they bring those ridiculously low caps to this area, especially at current rates. I will probably switch even if they keep running the trials in other areas. I don't want to have to worry about my bandwidth usage just because I download a few Linux ISOs or watch a few movies over Netflix's online service.
I have already called and verified availability of DSL in my area. It is finally available without a phone line. I can only get 3.0 Mbps down / 384 Kbps up on DSL, but hopefully they will at least get 6.0 Mbps down / 512 Kbps up soon. |

| reply to Anonymous_ Maybe. Depends on the average price for what I'm using. There are months I hardly use any traffic, literally less than 1-2GB and then there are rare months I go possibly 200+GB. If over say a year's average the price is still lower than Verizon FiOS like it is now, I'd stay. |
