 | 10 million people can't be wrong Obviously, there is a need that is being filled. Too bad the (MAF)IAA is too stupid to recognize this. Bottom line is this,
#1 there IS NO NEED FOR PHYSICAL MEDIA. #2 If it can be watched or listened to, IT CAN BE COPIED #3 As long as FREE O/S's exist, there is no way to stop #1 and #2.
The solution, according to our local right wing nut case, is very simple. Make Linux Illegal. Make Encryption Illegal. Put in Filters on ALL network Devices. Force ALL digital devices to have a TCP chip. Force ALL devices to report everything they do to the **AA's. Get rid of that pesky document (the constitution), which limits the profitability of the megacorps.
That's the only way they will ever get the genie back in the bottle.

 | Fantasy? Nope, it's the Bush Regime. Illegal Linux TCP Chip Encryption Illegal Filtering And our fearless leader "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. openbox9 join:2004-01-26 Alexandria, VA kudos:2 | Huh? Some slanted post in 1999 about the legality of reverse engineering and you also tie that to making Linux illegal?Government conspiracy because the DoD requires TPM? TPM serves a valuable role. Yes, the possibility of misuse exists, but that's always a possibility with technology.Illegal encryption?Did you read the article, especially the part about still requiring a court order. Or better yet, did you realize that the article was written in 1994? Or still, even better yet, did you realize that the ban on exporting encryption algorithms has been loosened significantly since that time frame?Relevant how? Until AT&T actually begins filtering content, it's all rhetoric. |

openbox9 join:2004-01-26 Alexandria, VA kudos:2 | The linked discussion was about content filtering by AT&T, not BT seed issues by Comcast. Filtering content is significantly different than shaping, throttling, capping, etc. So, plus one, back at ya..... |
