Safe Free Anonymous Proxies

Anyone know of any free safe proxy servers. If using a proxy, are you safer from exploits or not?

I don't know any I would trust. I equate the trustworthiness of "free proxies" with Free Smileys", "Free ringtones" "Free serialz", "Free game cheats" and so on. My experience with breached customers has biased me thusly.
