| [XP Pro] network connections in windows
You know how every time you make a network connection in windows it names it network connection 1, 2 , 3 so on...
How can I remove them the ones I dont use so that I can just have it back to network connection, I have some that are saying network connection 13 and so on, and it seems like it cycles thru them all before getting to 13. |

| I think he is right that you can find stale entries in the registry from the past enumerated local area network connections. These are just dead entries, and there is absolutely no reason to be concerned about them in the slightest.
They have no effect on whatever is shown, if anything, as the current interface, other than the trailing number; i.e., Local Area Network #5. Again, you can rename what does appear to anything you like.
This is a description, and has not weight other than as one of several ways to describe the interface to NETSH.EXE
