I just got off the phone with Verizon tech support and the gal told me "'we' (as in Verizon) can't downgrade the firmware" as if SHE was going to do it herself. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I got the runaround that "All the supervisors are in a meeting". Yeah, right...my ass.
My better half works in a call center and she has clued me in.

Actually I want to take a gander at the Verizon branded firmware update, but first want to know that I can get back to where I currently am.
The older Westell branded firmware (3.2.1) probably has all the cabilities but the user interface of the new Verizon firmware is probably higher level, like with the Verizon FiOS branded Actiontec MI424WR. The screen shots I have seen look exactly like that. Guess Verizon must be going for a common router/gateway user interface. For instance the custom firewall configuration in the older Westell branded firmware allows command line rules. Not sure if all the capabilities/fexabilities of the command line firewall rules will still be available through the Verizon branded version user interface, so want ability to 'get back, get back to where I once belonged'.
