| [Thunderbird] Desperate help needed
My Thunderbird stopped working.
It all of a sudden lost it's account and all subfolders and e-mails and asks that I setup a new account.
At the advice of another user here I uninstalled and reinstalled it but that did nothing.
If I go to C:\Documents and Settings\default_user\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\mt0jotss.default
All the stuff is there it seems.. How can I make this work again? I have 3 years worth of DB information in it for business use.. I have backed up the folders before uninstall/reinstall also.
Thank you so much in advance for yuor help. |

| reply to needs_helps Well folks - in case anyone is ever reading this - the ONLY way I was able to restore this was to use an old copy of prefs.js that I had stored about a year ago (last time it crashed)
I can say with some certainty that without this, you would have to rebuild prefs.js from scratch somehow - I highly recommend that all Thunderbird users copy their 'Thunderbird folder' and burn it to disk. WinXP System Restore was useless, Uninstall / ReInstall was useless. |
