| [IA] Wish Mediacom has more HD channels
I moved from Chicago and had comcast before, switched to Mediacom here in Des Moines, IA with HD and guess what only 5 channels (without premium services) in HD. That is really bad. DirectTV has lot more channels in HD and so does Comcast. I am not sure if Mediacom is going to improve their service in these lines.
Hopefully, we will have more channels in HD soon here in Des Moines.
Is anyone else frustrated with this?? |

| reply to Service Tech Still don't have my locals in HD like the commercials say you get. My local Fox just started sending an HD signal this morning in time for the Superbowl. Great news if you can go OTA. I can't. I have an HD DCT from Mediacom and they only provide me with two of my locals in HD. Gotta love false advertising. |

True, but the Attorney General would probably say Mediacom should be running something like "Not available in all areas" on the bottom of the tv ad. |

| reply to Anonymous It's false advertising when only a select few markets are given the local HD feeds and the rest aren't. But yet they still run the ads in the markets that don't get the locals claiming you get all the locals in HD at no charge. Potential new customers that see that sign up thinking it's what they're going to get. What a nice surprise that must be when they learn you don't get what they claim you get on TV. It's pretty simple to me. If they aren't going to offer all the markets their locals in HD, then don't run commercials that say they do. |

Exactly..But then they'd have to change the wording of the commercial being there's a line that says "if your a Mediacom customer you get your locals in Hi def at no charge" line. |

It's definitely false advertising when they are running ads saying they currently have TNT & TBS in HD, when they don't anywhere in their system. |

I suppose that means we're getting stiffed again up here. |

835 TNT-HD 836 TBS-HD 837 CNN-HD
The channels are not live, there are just placeholders for them. Also, the existing non-local HD channels are not working, or turning on and off. Maybe they will be live soon.
By the way, I'm in Minnesota. |

| The following HD channels are working for me tonight on cable company HD DVR with Cable Card and Sony DHG500 w/Cable Card. The Cable HD DVR doesn't know the channels names or have any listings for them though. The SONY box has channels name but will have to wait until tonight to get guide data.
835 TNTHD 836 TBSHD 837 CNNHD
I live in Southern MN and these showed up but I lost 832 FSNHD. Mediacom can't do anything right. |
