Bakersfield,CA Access?

I have been looking around for some Mobile Broadband access locally, however I can't seem to find anyone who is actively using either of the main offerings (Sprint/Verizon) - is there anyone who passes thru Bakersfield,CA and it's surrounding areas or lives in Bakersfield,CA who utilize either Sprint/Verizon's Mobile Broadband who can give me some opinions of the service?

Any feedback on service quality is greatly appreciated!

We normally don't like cross-posted topics but in this case you might want to ask in the Southern California forum. Bakersfield is probably not claimed by SoCal but it's close enough that people in that forum might have some information for you.

I know the mod there so it's OK.

Ah - re-read what was written (been awake far too long) - I'll re-post it there and see what sort of results I get, thanks for the suggestion.

Know that after 5 years, I still have problems with both Sprint and Verizon wireless broadband in Bakersfield. If I go outside and stand on the second story with my notebook, I can get my e-mail, but I would not want to try to surf at all.

If you don't get an answer, I'll stop and test mine out next time I go through Bakersfield--which could be next week or next year. :\

Well,
If you can get a 3G signal, AT&T is the way to go here.

Otherwise Verizon and Sprint both have great high speed networks in town.

As soon as you leave town, your screwed.

Sadly 3G isn't widespread in bako, in the end I didn't get anything, with Sprint changing up things a lot lately, avoided them, and waiting for 90 days up at work and see if I can get some deals thru Verizon... time will tell!

But thanks for the feedback.
