Stupid heads.

I wish the idiots who call in every month asking their balance and why it's so high (most of the time because prior bill not paid) would be stopped by the fees for making payments. Unfortunately not... they call, ask for the their account number, then use an automated phone system to make the payment. If you have a sh!77y payment history you should be charged for balance and account number queries.

"I'd like to go over my bil", well do you have your bill with you? "No." then I just end up reading the bill to them pretty much. What a waste of everyone's time.

And if you call from your job and put a customer service rep on hold you should be charged $1/second for making other people wait. Crap.. just arguing about long hold times is part of what makes long hold times.

Even further off topic... when you're asked for your account number bitching about how long the number is takes more of your breath than just saying the number.

If you work for Comcast you just gave a brilliant example of why people hate their CSRs.

Just make monthly payments on time and neither of us will be so hateful of each other.

Don't have the customer
break their back
to meet the bogus payment plan
that you fabricated
so you can collect your commission.

Break their neck? Since when did mailing a check become so difficult for people? What does people making payments have to do with my commission? And what payment plan are you referring to?

It's a statement referring to the account guys (with debtee company, not collection company) who construct deals with people who are behind in payments (due to medial issue, family disaster, whatever).

The account guy promises erasure of overage fees, and/or reduced interest rates, and/or rolling back of penalties that began at the first late payment.

The deals are usually for the debtor to come up with large sum, equal to portion of the back due. The debtor then uses up every resource they have, borrowing, working around the clock, putting off other critical bills in order to come up with a large sum of money.

The debtor then contacts the account guy, pays the sum, and then waits for the next bill; only to find out that they were had. The account guy lied. He never had any intention of reducing any burden on the debtor, who is now in worse shape than they were as their personal resources are depleted. The account guy gets a commission check on a portion of the sum collected and proceeds to lie and screw over the next debtor for his employer.

This happens every day at institutions such as MBNA, CitiBank, CaptiolOne and lots of others. They commit outright acts of fraud because they know there is no penalty for doing so. Top management will say Mid-Level managers acted on their own, while the MLM say the account guys were rogues working alone.

MSM will never expose the practices and potential whistleblowers focused on their careers respond with things like "What commission?", "What Payment Plan?", or "I've never heard of anything like that before".

That's what.

That would be why I said...

The debtee company would be MBNA, etc. not the collections company that takes over the account.
So, unless I misunderstand what you do, it's you guys.
