If she's unavailable, you can leave a message - or email lani@corp.sonic.net directly.

-Dane

ubetdsl : Dane,
Thanks for the reply. I called this morning to try to speak with Lani, I explained that you had recommended her by name, but the operator would only connect me to sales. So I placed the move order with the fellow I talked to. I asked about minimizing downtime and he gave the standard three to seven days, etc. Also he told me I could only try to re-term once the new service was in place. So it seems I should have just used the member tools to move it. Anyway, thanks again for the reply.

DaneJasper : As you're an existing customer, you wouldn't be eligible for the introductory rate.

I would suggest talking to Lani in our provisioning/billing group, she can assist you in minimizing your downtime and get you set up with a new re-term rate plan for an appropriate level of speed. You can reach her at 707-522-1000 weekdays until 5pm. She's great, and is our most senior provisioner.

-Dane

Moving DSL vs. Disconnect/Reconnect

ubetdsl : I will be moving this weeekend and need to move my Sonic DSL service. I have been super-satisfied using 1.5/384 Express service for years @ the non-promotional rate. I have activated my new land line and was told by AT&T that only the Basic level of service will be available on the line, so I am looking at a slower loop which is already kind of depressing. After running through the dsl management module in member tools it appears by moving service I would get switched the non-promotional rate of 39.95 for the Basic service. I was hoping to have uninterrupted service since we use Vonage for our main phone, but it would seem by disconnecting and then reconnecting at the new address I could get the 14.95 Basic promotional rate for a year, saving me $300 bucks over the year. The savings pretty much would make it worth the downtime between service connections. Hate to be generating 'churn' but the way it is set up it seems it would behoove me to do so. Am I missing something on this? I would still have my Sonic dialup while the disconnect and reconnect happens, right? AT&T wanted to sign me up for 14.95 service on the line, but I have been a Sonic customer since 2001 and would not consider going with another provider.
