Re: QAM channel number for WHYY-HD

NO NOT AGAIN!!! I just rescanned over the weekend & renamed them all. But ours are still where they were then, the sub channels of 89-90. Phew!!!

Moved most of the local HD channels again today - CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS all moved to completely new positions.

My bad! It WAS on 12.3 this past Sunday night, but now it's not! I checked last night & found ABC, NBC, CBS & WHYY all moved! I'm not sure, but I think they were all subs of 88. I'll have to rescan over the weekend. AGAIN!

I've had a QAM tuner for about 6 months and Comcast has moved at least some of the local HD channels around several times in that period. Does anyone know why they do that? I'm in the burbs north of Philly.
While I don't have a direct answer from the source... I speculate that since Central to Eastern PA are so far behind in terms of HD channels, Comcast may be experimenting or realigning some frequencies to more easily add future HD programming.

In our area it was actually on 1.3 for a long time. Then it disapeared and a rescan showed it up on 12.3.

Try doing a rescan on your TV. If CC moved the frequency around you will need to initiate a new digital channel scan for your TV to find it and map it.

I am on Comcast of Mercer County, NJ. WHYY-HD (PBD from Phila) used to be on 12.1 QAM channel. Channel 12 is the analog version of WHYY.
Several days ago 12.1 went dark. Anybody knows which QAM channel it has been migrated to?
