| Two Comcast cable boxes in one room?
Hi - we have two televisions in the same room. I have a Comcast DVR hooked up to mine; my husband's TV is hooked directly to the Comcast cable. Right now that is all working well. But - it looks like Comcast may be reducing the number of analog-direct stations, which (if I'm interpreting all the info correctly) means that he will need a converter box such as my DVR to watch the channels. If all this is correct - my question is whether there is any way to set up the second remote control differently so that we're not having remote wars with changing each other's boxes.
Thanks! |

| reply to HappyBiker14 One trick I read about years ago is to put polarizing film on the remote sensors of the cable box, and on the front of the remote. For one box/remote pair, you put the film on horizontally, for the other, vertically.
Supposedly, if you operate the remote in a horizontal position, it will control box #1. Turn it 90 degrees, and it controls box #2 (not sure if 45' gets you neither boxes, or both!).
Unfortunately very few consumer electronics equipment has support multiple units in the same location (in terms of different remote controls operating a specific one).

@comcast.net | reply to HappyBiker14 Yea and if you flip the remote in the air once, it will make you toast. I can't believe the above guy is serious. |
