Tiscali's heavily oversubcribed, heavily traffic managed network was already bursting at the seams before BBCi player came along. There rumours that Tiscali may block ALL p2p traffic during peak hours. They already throttle it to dialup speeds.
Tiscali is without a doubt the worst ISP in Britain. All they are doing at the moment is trying to make themselves look better for a potential buyout.
Ticali's tactic is to headline rock bottom prices (£6/$11) and lock customers into long term contracts.
They have just acquired Pipex (big half decent ISP) and are in the process of migrating the Pipex users onto the Tiscali platform. If you look at the forum located here (»bbs.adslguide.org.uk/) you can see the extent of Tiscali's inferioty.
I'm with Sky, packaged with their digital satellite and pay £10 for 16Mb, 250Gb FUP without any traffic management. Why do people still choose Tiscali? Lack of knowledge. |
