In need of 4 new tires

Hey guys, I have a 2006 Honda Accord EX - I'm reaching the point of needing new tires and would like to see what yall recommend for it? I live in the south-east dont need anything to do winter tires.

The stock tires that came on them were Michelin Energy MXV4 S8's.

Thanks!

Did you like the stock tires? What kind of tire and attributes are you looking for? Wet traction, performance, ride, cost (low or high) or wear?

Mileage on those stock tires?

Mileage is 46,000 - Looking for good performance, decent in rainy conditions, can be upper end of the price.

Check out the Altimax HP from General. Continental did a great job of bringing this brand back. The Altimax has been getting great reviews.

I have 2 Honda Accords.

x wife I just bought Michellin Hydroedge. Very nice, quiet and very stable on wet roads, upped the size to 205's.

On my daughters Honda Accord I bought Yokohama's (she's at school) and I can't remember the model. These are very impressive - quiet and nice traction for about 2/3 of the Michelin. Some of this performance on this Accord is a function of me put 4 new struts in.

I think you did well on factory Michelins. I think they make a good tire at least for the Accords.

Michelin are my tires of choice on cars I will keep a long time. I usually get their 60-80K mile warrantied tires and never had any issues - no slipping belts, no odd wear (a lot of that due to alignment not going out), and never had a short tread life.

I with you brother.

I always look at Mitchel ins 1st. I'm a hard sell on anything I'm going to keep.

But these Yokohama's are good.

I had Yokohama Avid's on my 2002 Altima before I sold it, LOVED them. Great grip, great wear, you could get alot of miles out of them. Before I have the Avid's I was a Michelin guy, but am now a Yokohama fan.

I had Avid's on my Tacoma, and loved them. So much that we bought another set for our Grand Caravan. Hated them. I don't know if the difference in vehicle weight was the problem, but the long wear and low noise I had on my Tacoma were gone with the same tire on the van. The van is well maintained, and the current store brand tires have last much better, so I don't know why the Yoko's didn't last.
