And the content owners hate this idea as much as they did VCRs. Unfortunately, this time around the government is much less pro consumer and more pro big business.
And as an aside, the N&O are masters of stirring up trouble where there was none by bringing things to the attention of the troublemakers. For just one example, we NCans have them to thank for a recent law that makes vehicle equipment violations (many of which are actually pled-down speeding tickets) part of public driving records.
