AMD is much better than Intel. Every Intel I have ever had has had problems and sucks! AMD on the other hand just works and has no flaws! Rock on AMD. STAY STRONG! |

| Exactly the words that I'd expect an AMD fanboy. But the fact is that isn't how the market works. The vast majority of people buy things because of good quality and good price. And unless AMD is able to get their act together and release CPUs of real substance (not this Phenom bullshit => looks good on paper but thats about all).
What AMD seriously has to do is fire Hector Ruiz, who while a decent leader when the company is growing, is unable to transform the company enough to handle the "hard times". In a way his last good decision was buying out ATI in my opinion, because only the GPU branch of AMD is able to keep up with their main competitor (Nvidia) via their HD3800 series [in particular HD3870 and HD3870 X2).
With regards to AMD flaws: there are tons in their bios and drivers (ATI/GPU branch). That was why their HD2000 series was unable to beat Nvidia's 8000 series even though "yet again" they have far better specs on paper.
That being said, AMD's major flaw: they try aiming too high, but the actual result is far short => being arrogant in today's market isn't going to help you win market shares! |

1 edit | I have been using AMD chips for many years, Why; I get more bang for my buck from AMD. It is Intel that has spread the rumors of AMD incompatibility. Take a look a the AMD Phenom Quad-Core Processors it blows the Intel quad core out of the water. »www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Pro···,00.html
I am not a fan boy, if Intel comes out with something with the price and performance of a AMD CPU I'll build my next system with one. I have been waiting for many years. I have been working and playing with computers since the early '70's I remember the first rather weak processors from AMD I watched as they improved and finally when I thought AMD was worth trying I build my first system using it, I have not looked back. -- Send a prayer to Mecca, eat Beans. |
