I fix machine's on the side and that program has literally rescued machine's that I had planned on reformatting and installing a clean OS on. Plus the realtime protection in the pro version is transparent. I cant even tell its running. The best 19.95 i have ever spent. While not a "direct" AS app, I consider it's capabilities extremely beneficial for monitoring/alerting (and other features). I used the free version and have tested a couple of pre-release free versions.  I will install the new free version when it's final. I also voted that my AV includes antispyware.  <br><br>There are several other popular free programs that I have used in the recent past, but I do not use them any more for a variety of reasons.  E.g. Adaware stopped supporting their older SE version and I didn't trust them after the WhenU fiasco.  Spybot overheated my CPU. ]]></description>

I recently used a stand alone version of Norton Anti Virus given from my ISP for free. Unfortunately everything crawls to a halt. It uses so much resources its incredible. Is there a reliable anti virus program out there that doesn't drain your system resources? I found the scan times are a bit faster, not a great deal. What I was really impressed by was the resource footprint. I went for using about 38,000k RAM to 300k! I&#146;m sure the RAM usage goes up when it&#146;s performing certain task, but the majority of the time in runs and 300k. That is a huge improvement.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1162456"><b>fcukdat</b></A> : <b>S</b>UPER<b>A</b>nti<b>S</b>pyware free is the only botkliller i have installed as i use it during recovery from infections in my persuit of new malwares :D<br><br>It is also the first botkiller out of my toolkit when cleaning up clients hosed pc's ;)<br><br>Disclaimer-Any malware i find that SAS cannot remove,is bundled off to SAS HQ and extradited into their target database...This will continue as long as Nick S gives a free fully working detection/cleaning engine and dose not bundle/offer any toolbars like some others! ]]></description>
