Re: New York

Hell no. I like the silence of no cellphones ringing, peopel carrying stupid conversations and me being stuck having to listen to their crap. Everything is fine as is. Maybe in the stations but no way in hell should it be done for tunnel service.

Well then enjoy it while you can! The city is in the process of contracting with an outside company to bring service to all the subway stations in the 5 boroughs. While this service isnt "supposed" to work in the tunnels, I can assure you that in many cases it will.

Julio,

I'm afraid that the needs of the many will outweigh the needs of the few. I’m sure that the investors can come up with 1,000 reasons why we should have wifi on a moving train. I’m sure the first 100 will hint to something like public safety and immediate information dispersion.

But anyway, I doubt you’ll see anyone using a laptop on the 3 train on its way to New Lots. The customer base or demographics for this service will be very specific, and I’m sure not everyone will be phase or disturbed by this service if it were to come to NYC.

IF the new yorkers rode the subway system for 100 years, why would not having cellphone service be a public safety issue?
