| [Help] Help recover from a failed hdd partitioning?
I have two hard disk drives. Disk 1 where Windows was installed and now is not working, and Disk 2 with an image of Windows. I was trying to partition Disk 1 with Paragon Hard disk Wizard and there was a power failure before the partitioning was finished.
Now Windows will not start. It says that it needs a Recovery Disk, which I do not have. I tried restoring things using the clean image I have from Disk 2, but still Windows will not start, it still demands the Recovery Disk. Is there a way I can wipe/format Disk 1 and then recover using the image I have on Disk 2? I am using Bart's PE disk to post now for help. Thanks. -- "The man who never makes a mistake always takes orders from the one who does." |

1 edit | Can't you just use the BartPE Cd to format you Disk 1? then Boot your imaging recovery CD and restore the image from disk 2 to disk 1.
If not, you could connect disk 1 to another computer (via an unused IDE cable inside the computer or connect the drive inside an External USB enclosure) and format it from the other computer - disk management - My computer | right click | manage | disk management - select the attached drive and format. |

I do not know how, that is my problem. I also cannot see Disk Management on it(Disk 1). Would using the Windows CD to start from scratch work? I am thinking of just reformatting if that would work. Thanks. -- "The man who never makes a mistake always takes orders from the one who does." |

I had used Acronis TrueImage 7.0. It does not matter now anymore, I have bit the bullet and have reformatted and reinstalled Windows from scratch. Thank you guys for your help, greatly appreciated. -- "The man who never makes a mistake always takes orders from the one who does." |
