[Other] Ambit Modem U10C019 Login

I am trying to login to the configuration pages of an Ambit U10C019 cable modem but cannot. I've tried the following different credentials that I've found but none work:

user/user
root/root
admin/cableroot
(blank)/admin

Perhaps the previous user changed the login information. Any suggestions on how I can access the configuration? I've tried resetting the modem by holding the reset button for 5 seconds hoping the default setting would reset but that did not work.

There must be a way to reset the modem.

Cable Modem : DOCSIS 1.0/1.1/2.0 Compliant

Serial Number : 101910873EE1
Boot Code Version : 2.1.6d
Software Version : 5.66.1005
Hardware Version : 4.10

That should be the Default login creditials.

Have you read the User Guide here?

Have done all that -- and yes, I also have the manual.

Any idea how I can reset the modem back to factory defaults? Someone must have changed the password from the default.

Thanks.

You may have to email Ambit Support for the proper reset steps as there is no published procedure for the reset button that I can find and the only thing in the User Guide is how to reset the Filters and Firewall rules to Factory Defaults using the Web Interface, but that is useless when you can't get into the Web Interface.

Some reset buttons act differently and procedure vary widely. Some reset sequences can erase the Firmware too so be careful.

I've tried that route, but their support only answers to Cable company tech's so they did not even reply to my call for help.

Had a similar issue w/ my Ambit modem a couple of months ago and this is the procedure I used to reset to factory defaults, including changing the login back to the default user/user settings.

Unplug the power adapter. Hold in reset button for ~5 seconds and while continuing to hold in the reset button, plug the power back in. Hold the reset button for another 30 seconds or so and once you release it, the settings should be back to the factory defaults.

Thanks for sharing the reset procedure. Hopefully the OP will report back that it works successfully for them.

Okay -- an update: after many attempts I've been unable to login to this cable modem. No problem, I just bought a new Dlink modem -- which was terrible, it kept dropping the connection and tests here at DSLR were very slow.

So now I'm running again on the Ambit. The other day we had storms and it was no surprise that the signal or power had dropped at some time. Well it had not re-synced and I was able to login with the default user/user -- but there was no wireless or other configuration menus. I changed the password to my own and then re-synced the modem. Of course, once connected to the Comcast network my new password no longer works........something Comcast is doing is blocking my access.
