Everyone should pay for the bandwidth they use, period

The solution most users should be clamouring for is "pay per GB" of bandwidth. None of this so-called unlimited bandwidth.

Then demand that ISP's use the increased revenue to improve the network.

That way, in the future, when everyone and their mother is legally streaming television shows and movies, the network will be able to handle it, and the ISP's will be able to provide it at a reasonable "per GB" price.

Not to mention that we should also be clamouring for good latency. Makes for better on-line gaming.

The streaming of TV and movies is exactly what they are trying to prevent. Not because of the load on the system but because it competes with their other products. Even ATT is in on the act with their Uverse project.

Exactly. And a ISP will regulate traffic by increasing per GB charges. How about $2 a GB? for email and IMing its fine and users wont be upset, but users could do that on dialup, and thats how you want your users to use their connection.
