| [Info] Introducing two new members of the family
Meet Nacho and Beamer......
Nacho is a short haired Chihuahua and Beamer is a long hair Chihuahua.
After the tragic loss of Jackson in 9-04 that many of you helped me with »[OT] Lost my Best Friend,
I thought never again can I go through that.
Then Beamer came up needing a home. (He was abused and is terrified of men.) We've had him since the day before
Memorial day and he still has trouble going over to Bill.
He will if I'm sitting there.
I knew that I wanted to get a buddy for him, and at the end of July Nacho arrived.
They aren't the shaky, yippy kind, I throughly enjoy them.
Though at time is't like having 2 toddlers running around.

Oh, what a hoot, Sue -- they're so CUTE!!! 
I'm glad you have them, and I'm sure that in time li'l Beamer will come out of his shell and turn into a happy little pupper. Having Nacho will help him come along, although it's probably going to take a long time since the poor thing was abused. But he's in good hands with the two of you, and I know he'll figure it out in time.

Hi Jo,
You are 100% correct. We couldn't stop with just one chihuahua. The first one was abused in her first home. She has come a long ways in the 4 1/2 years since we adopted her.

| They are both "shelter" dogs.
Nacho was a owner surrender.
He was owned by a young couple that was
moving by greyhound bus, and couldn't take him.
After arriving at the shelter he got kennel cough, and was very sick for over a month.
He doesn't know how to play with ppl.
They must not have spent much time with him and he is just a year old now.
He's starting to get the hang of it. He's really sweet.
Beamer was passed around 4, 19/20 year old girls and their boyfriends for almost 2yrs. He wasn't abused traumatically(at least I don't think so). Most likely he was kicked around by the boyfriends???
Hence his fear of ALL Y chromosome humans.....
He had no house manners, thought nothing of just hopping up on the kitchen table, while we were eating no less. He went nuts the first time we ordered pizza.
I think that might have been one of his staple foods?????
He's real sweet too..

Sue,
It will take lots of time and patience with Beamer. Beamer will come around. Don't be discouraged.
Nacho will become more playful. I love to watch our chis. Romeo, our only male, loves to get Rosy to play with him. Ruby, the one who was abused, wants to join in with the other chis but just does not know how to play with other dogs. She was not socialized. Tinker is just content to sit on my lap.
All our chis are adopted. We adopted them from a local rescue group.
