The shortage is with HD DVRs only, AFAIK.

Customers calling in for an HD DVR will be given an SD DVR at no charge. When the HD ones come in, they'll then be shipped to the customers.

Motorola's standard def DVRs are actually newer products than the HD ones.

And still having problems with Comcast. Obviously Motorola is having problems building enough HD/DVR boxes no matter who is buying them.
