Stick with dialup!

Your better off looking elsewhere for broadband.

Many around here use wireless internet, like DTN Speednet.
While it sure ain't DSL or cable, it's certainly better than any satellite internet service.

There is nothing like that in my area. So people like my best friend that lives a mere 3 miles from city limits is stuck with dial-up or satelite. I guess the governemnt wants people like my friend to move out of the "boonies" and move to town since they don't seem to care.

And what about using Sprint Mobile or even Verizon?? Just pop the card in your desktop and away you go! Have you looked to see if you can get it there?

Sprint Mobile is not available every where and Verizon's 5 GIG cap concerns me. I know that they only cut you down to 200Kbs but after 6 years with Hughes and only the last few weeks being horrible, I'm not ready yet to throw the towel in.
I have talked with level 4 support and been told just today that the engineers know what the problem is are working on it. I was told I would get a call on Thursday the 7th to see if I have any improvement.
Time will tell.

Nope not available here. All we have is 1XRTT which is, if you're lucky, double dail-up.

Thats how it is at my lake house in the boondocks. The only internet I get there is EDGE from AT&T. No Verizon or Sprint. Not even a landline for dialup. I have Nextel for phone calls and AT&T for EDGE internet

That is odd cuz I see the local Hotels have high speed wireless, which you would think would also be available to residential....
