| Get ready to upgrade your NICs....
If speeds like this ever come to pass(320 Mbps), get ready to upgrade your NIC cards to Gigabit. Most ones currently in use top out at 100 Mbit..... only thing this type of speed would be useful for would be torrents and other PTP apps. Most sites out there won't put out anywhere near that type of bandwidth..... as mentioned before, with capping, throttling being implemented...who cares? |

You're never going to get that much bandwidth to your house, so your 10/100 nic will be more than sufficient. |

| reply to RadioDoc Hell, my cable modem is so old my switch link light shows 10Mbps. I suppose I might have to upgrade it if I subscribed to Charter's 10Mbps package. Since my cable bill is already the better of two Franklins, I'll wait until 10Mbps is the base package.
Of course at the rate the base package is bumped, they'll probably kick my DOCSIS 1.1 POS 3COM SharkFin off the plant first. |
