Outside of hosting game servers, which might not be permitted in all ISP AUPs, upstream is for sending DNS requests, HTTP GETs and SMTP; nothing terribly bandwidth intensive, even for the most robust www sites. Online backups is one thing but what I really want fast upstream for is when I VPN in to my local network and try to control my home computer with VNC. It is brutally slow. I need more upstream!! |
