Speeds are overstated, meaning if you order 3/! you will almost 100% not get 3MB/1MB, but somewhat close.
In Uverse - they aren't overstated. Uverse doesn't use same ATM technology that DSL uses. I have Uverse 3m/1m and I get 2900ish Down and 900ish upload no matter the time of day.

Yes, but now that they have fiber to my neighborhood, and the bandwidth from that node to my house is supposedly much higher, it seems the internet access can be much higher, too, if AT&T wanted.

I'm going to let them install the u-verse service and then cancel all of it unless they can give me the internet portion for less than what I'm paying for cable now.

This is assuming the u-verse internet part is more reliable than my cable access.

I was just replying to John's post. If you can get higher speed at a cheaper rate...more power to ya. =)

Just when I had cable..at peak times - my speeds were very diminished - usually at a 1/3 of the max... rejoiced the day DSL was available (no more peak time issues) even happier when Uverse was available.
