| Help with 3347NWG-006 - remote desktop/VPN issue
Hi all,
I have a 3347NWG-006 as my internet gateway, and I would like for our employees to have access to the server via (preferrably) VPN, or, if not, Remote Desktop. First question: Re: VPN, I pinholed TCP port 1723 to our WS2003 server, but there is no GRE pinholing option. Does this router simply not allow PPTP, then? Second question: I pinholed RDP TCP port 3389, but no dice. I can access the RDP console here when on the company LAN, but not from home. The 'local WAN IP address' that shows below in the config is the address I should be trying to remote to, correct? 'Remote gateway address' is the default gateway for the WAN on the ISP side, right? I have pasted below both pinhole configs and the general router configuration for your perusal, should you be inclined to help. I thank you in advance for any advice or tips or corrections you can offer. Thanks!

| see »netopia.com/support/hardware/tec···025.html you have to setup a second pinhole for PPTP and leave the ports at 0.
you did save and restart after you created the pinholes didn't you? the RD pinhole should have worked from what i see. -- Lack of Preparation on YOUR Part does NOT Constitute an Emergency on Mine! |

@bellsouth.net | reply to patricio2626 Thanks for the reply. There are only UDP and TCP options for pinholing that appear in the drop-down box, not PPTP. I did save and restart to write them to the database, but the RD connection still times out. |

| reply to patricio2626 download the latest firmware, even though it is the same as you have, and reload it. sounds like a glitch cause PPTP should be listed per the technote i gave you above. -- Lack of Preparation on YOUR Part does NOT Constitute an Emergency on Mine! |

| Thanks again! I assume my router (3347NWG-006) will be the first model listed, just the 3347-W? I do NOT want to install the wrong firmware, lol!
