Is possible to be TOO close to a Wireless Router?

As the topic title says, I have a game console set up right next to my wireless router and I experience a lag apparently no one else has(unless they're playing with me). I confirmed it has nothing to do with region distance.

Yes. Some people have reported similar problems. The explanation often given is that the transmit signal "overwhelms" the receiver. Is it possible to move one of the devices to test?

This doesn't answer the question, but if the units are that close, why not run a wire?

Yes. It is. I have found reduced performance and wider throughput variation when some products are too close together, especially some draft 11n products.

When I separated them by about 10 feet, performance improved.
