That happens with all ISPs once a while. Acanac was down a few times @ night too in the past two months.

If Ebox offers Cable Internet @ reasonable prices in Toronto (Rogers), I'd be jumping the ship :P.

Who is your friend ? He might want to enter in contact with me by email or PM here and i will have a look. There is no problems with ebox network, it is probably an isolated case. I will be glad to look that in.

Whats so expensive guys ? Tsi isn't 39,95$/month for similar product (unlimited dsl) ?

lawrence171, no plans on that side so far.

Absolutely sir, Electronic Box NEVER capped his Adsl service. I have been on this board for 6 years and it never changed. Whats the secret ? Charging a decent price so that we cover our expenses and don't go down the train like so many ISP did.

I am a Ebox happy customer. Between 4.3M and 4.4 M rock solid since months on an unlimited 5M plan.

5 mbps is pretty slow for that price....

VDN which i'm using offers almost double the speed for less.. the only downside is the 60 gb cap

Easy Chief... You're going in a direction that likely won't end well with flinging grey comments like these.

Wrong.... We're both offering unlimited for the same price without contract.

As for the apples and oranges comparison... Being as only 4% of the online population use more than 200GB, I'd say our 200GB capped service at $29.95 rocks just about anything out in the market thank you.

@Rocky: Make sure you read correctly before posting. That was in reply to Quake110.

Whats wrong ? That is exactly what i am telling. Similar product, same price.

About the stats, i believe this is half-true. We all know that people don't like caps. High or not, they don't like them. This 4% is not reflecting the reality. It's a snapshot from a report on users usage in a given month for a given pool of users. But from stats to real world when someone is shopping things are different. I can assure you this is not 4% here

We sale mostly Unlimited services, no catch no fine print, no contract and since the company was established. That, in my opinion, rocks just about anything else in the market.

Diskace,

I replied to your reaction to the sequence of discussion.... If you can't follow past two posts, this isn't my problem. You threw jabs, I reacted. Simple as that... You have a very bad habit of this, time to realise it and stop doing it.

4%: I don't know what your client base is, but out of our total base, 20K are DSL specific and of them 4% go over 200GB, so yeah, this is a very good pool to draw statistics from.... So for 96% of the people 200GB is the same as unlimited, and as s result, what we're doing is a winning combination. If you go one on one, we do very similar on the unlimited offering and on the capped side we have a very, very strong bid.

We "sale" both unlimited and capped services and have always been completely open to every single thing we do, no catches, contracts (none whatsoever)....

Maybe next time make a better choice of where you throw jabs and I won't be in your face.

PS - For anyone reading this, I don't mean to be rude, but this individual has a very bad habit of doing this once every 6 to 12 months.... I'm not putting up with it.

Dear Rocky,

this jab story is getting ridiculous. Please get over it. Anyway how would that be a jab being that 2 posts before i just showed that price for similar product is the same ? Please read before jumping to conclusion.

That is exactly why it is half-true in the real world. You can't extrapolate stats from a specific userbase to a population wide. Statistics 101. Just to back my comments, out of 8K users here, stats on usage are not even near what you posted. So this is really irrelevant from a market wide perspective.
