Since this afternoon my DSL has been slow and intermittent. |

@mindspring.com | Yes. It appears as if it stalls when in the middle of opening a web page? I live in the South Bay area. However the ELN website doesn't specify exactly what cities are affected. |

@verizon.net | reply to Ted Franks Same here in Seal Beach. Some web sites will load right away and others I can't get at all. I called Earthlink but because of a "system outage" (no further info given) they were too busy to talk. |

It sucks big time to be paying for such poor service. |

| reply to Ted Franks Thanks everybody. I was worried my PC had corrupted something in my connection software...
I hope Earthlink hurries up and fixes this cause I got homework to do online.

| reply to Ted Franks This has been going on all week long for me in Corona. Brutally slow connection, worse than dial-up. Customer service won't take calls. Recorded message says it'll all be better in an hour, and it never is. It seems to come back but only for five minutes or so, then slow again. There's a major problem, and this kind of customer service is a very bad way to handle it. How about giving people some realistic idea of how bad things are rather than stringing us along. I can't believe I'm paying for this. Unbelievable. |

@mindspring.com | reply to Ted Franks It's been total crap here in Dallas, too! Web pages timing out, unable to resolve URL's. Really bad! |

| reply to Ted Franks I am truly getting sick of EL. This isn't the first time I have been subjected to substandard service and still charged a pretty penny for it. There has got to be something better. I am not impressed. Can't do business this way! Last time there was a huge outage I was understanding since the storms wreaked havoc everywhere (Dec/Jan). What is the excuse now? |

Sometimes it works, but most of the time it is slow or the web sites are "unavailable." |

Are you guys using EL DNS? I was having similar problems this morning and after running a few ping tests it seemed that the trouble was with he EL DNS. I changed to Open DNS and the problems you guys are describing went away. Any of the following seem to work: 4.2.2.1,4.2.2.2,4.2.2.3, 208.67.222.222,208.67.220.220 |

| reply to Ted Franks Well, at least I'm not alone in slow web browsing problems. Since Friday (February 8, 2008), I've been getting a lot of instances where the EL DNS server seems to not work correctly (switching between web pages has been dog-slow at times. ). Either somebody is doing a Denial of Service attack on the EL DNS servers or EL's DNS server farm is going on the fritz. |
