I seriously doubt verizon thinks so. If you patent anything and someone uses it without permission then you have the right to ask them to stop. Charter should have made sure they were not in any violation before offering this service to people.
Intel is being sued for something to do with core 2 duo and violation of a patent too.
Kinda crazy
