red line

Just because it can go everywhere, doesn't follow that it will.. Verizon is notorious of redlining the most profitable locations FIRST, then working it's way down the totem pole.
Are you really serious that they will wire up the mdu apts of the Morrisania section of the Bronx over row homes in Mill Basin Brooklyn or Cadman Plaza?

who cares....it's business. What's the point of them installing it to the places that can't/won't buy it? That's like saying that Cadillac should be required to open their dealerships in the places of a city that "need" nice new cars rather than the places that will actually be able to afford them.

Actually, they already have in Spanish Harlem. Not exactly Trump's neighborhood yet it is getting more and more FIOS deployed every day.

You are full of BS.

Locally, they installed in my subdivision before the next one over and those homes are worth about 100K+ more than the ones in my subdivision.

Also, Stafford County and Prince William Counties are lagging well behind Spotsylvania county in Va. Both of those are further North (closer to DC) with home values much higher. I don't think Stafford County has any installs yet, but VZ is pushing hard in Spotsy.

I'm building FiOS every day in the slums of Providence, RI, ... they could have, and maybe should have moved to areas where prospective customers haven't run bills up on the cable company and the satellite company only to move to FiOS so they can avoid paying their bill. It's a business, Cox won't provide service to customers off the beaten path unless they pay thousands, and I mean thousands of dollars to get the coax to the premise. Verizon seems to be running fiber to even the most outlying homes in the area it is serving.
