When the modem, it seems to be having trouble downloading the cable modem configuration file ("Invalid Type"). Is this how it should go for Charter, or not?

This would not affect your bandwidth.

| Signal levels at least look OK. CBN tech already gave the next step in the troubleshooting, run a direct connection from your modem to one PC and test again (don't forget to power-cycle the modem).
Thos DI-524 aren't just old, they also can cause some issues with VPN connections because the firmware doesn't support some configurations. | |
