anon : I have 3Mb/s service from Charter. I'm renting a Motorola Surfboard SB4100 from them, which is connected to a DLink DI-524 wireless router.

Lately I've noticed web surfing getting noticeably slower. I came here and did a few speed tests, and I average 900 kb/s down. I tried the test on three different computers with the same result. For some reason, I thought to try powercycling the cable modem. Afterwards, I had speed tests of 2500 to 3000 kb/s (sometimes more), right where I'd expect them to be.

I've done this twice now on different days. The speed seems to hold up for awhile (days?), then drops down again.

Anyone have any thoughts on what is going on?

Thanks!
