The wife and I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival and Parade here in Canon City today. The sun was out but the wind had a little bite to it at first, but then eased up and it was a nice day. We had some rain yesterday but not much. The family on the old fire trucker is my son (a volunteer fire fighter), daughter-in-law, granddaughter, grandson and their dalmatian and another dog . You can't see him but my grandson is doing well. He still has to see the cardiologist every three weeks and may need one more procedure later in the year but he's growing fast, is very alert, and is developing quite a personality of his own. A lot of prayers have been answered.

The other picture is of some boys who are a dime shy or have lots of guts. Those long horns weren't behaving bad but they weren't docile either.

Wonderful news!! So glad to hear everything went well (not that we ever thought it wouldn't, there was NO other acceptable option!!).

A few more days of recovery (those little ones bounce back a heck of a lot quicker than we would!), and you can put all this behind you and just enjoy little Asher. :)

I just got back from the hospital and am happy to report that all is well. I even got to hold him for a half an hour, really neat. Things look to be on track for him to go home by Saturday. My son and daughter-in-law are pretty wiped so I didn't stay long, they need the bonding time.

They will try to open the valve tomorrow through a heart cath. Don't worry. My daughter spent four days in the NICCU unit after she was born (NICCU is intensive care for newborns). Doctors thought she had a collapsed lung and also found what was thought to be spinal bifida.

She just turned three this past Friday and the chic weighs 60 pounds.

She's perfectly fine, she likes to charge at me like a quarter back.

Kid will be fine. Give it tons of love. My grandson is currently on his way from Colo Springs to Children's Hospital in Denver via a neo natal ambulance. He has a problem called "pulmonary valve stenosis". The valve sends blood to the lung to be oxygenated and it is not opening up like it should. The doctor is going to do a heart cath tomorrow and try and use a stent to open up the valve. All thoughts and prayers are solicited and appreciated. Will update.

Our good friend, GadgetsRme

has happy news..he's a new grandpa - 7 lbs 8oz, 19 inches of grandson :)

Due to some complications, however..the lil one is currently under somewhat diligent professional care

First off..welcome to the world, lil one!
