Just like ad blockers. Developers are pissed about them too because less people may click on their ads to help pay for the site. I've never clicked one, and I don't intend to, so I removed them completely to save the bandwidth, and my eyeballs. I'm allowed to customize my experience on the internet, right?
Every company out there is looking to gain from ads. From web developers, all the way up to DNS providers. (See Neustar below) Ultimately, it is the end users choice to determine what they WANT to see on their desktop. And all content providers are looking to get their ads in front of the user by any means possible.

 | And its people like you, and these stupid DNS redirects, and tool bars, and are killing websites. Bandwidth is extremely expensive. And when people block ads, we (webmasters) don't make money off the bandwidth that you just used from us.
I really hope someone comes up with a way so that if you block the ads of the site, you get redirected to a blank page and are not allowed to view the site. |

So everything for FREE right? Everyone is suppoed to work hard and spend money so you can enjoy life for FREE? moe adblocker will mean MORE ads less content. And eventually nothing but subscription based content. Personally I'd rather put up with ads than have to pay subscription to every site I use.
NOTHING is on the internet now for you pure entertainment. Whether you like it or not there is a profit motive involved. If they can't make money by having ads because you block them they WILL get you to pay somehow or you'll do without. The sooner you learn this the better off you'll be. |

wentlancYou Can't Fix Dumb.. join:2003-07-30 Maineville, OH | reply to BF69 No, not for free. I pay for access to the internet, just like everyone else. If a company wants my business, then they will earn it. If I feel that a website is worth contributing to, then I will. If I don't want ads or other unwanted things to show up on my PC, then it is my choice. If that drives content to the point of extinction, then it must not have been worth it in the first place. Just like you would choose ads over subscription services, I also get to have a choice. You can choose to disagree with me, but that does not make you right. It's just your choice.
Oh, and EVERYTHING on the internet is for my entertainment. The only websites that I "require" to live my life are the ones that are paid for by my banking, credit cards, the public library, and some news sites. All things that are NOT paid for by advertising.
Nice try, but if a business cannot be profitable in a given market, it is not MY obligation to help that business out.
