| [northeast] Suffolk County, New York any info Ok where did the running Suffolk County Threads go??? Anyway any new info on Suffolk roll-outs, primarily Brookhaven? Cablevision service is quickly sliding further and further down the drain. The last time I was in Smithhaven Mall a Verizon rep said early this year, is that still true? |

| No, unfortunately the Town of Brookhaven is very strongly against allowing Verizon in. Because of that, the expected date is not til 2009 at the earliest. |

They were wiring my area, in Islip (between Moffit Blvd & Sunrise Hwy/Islip Ave. and Wilson Blvd.) since October. I just received a letter in the mail telling me that TV service (no mention of Internet) is available.
Funny thing was, when I checked online it told me it wasn't available.
I'm still not sure if I will be switching over to Fios yet. Pricing has me concerned and don't need phone service (I use AT&T CallVantage). My calculations are that I'd spend close to what I already spend for iO/OOL plus DVR. |
