[northeast] Suffolk County, New York any info

Ok where did the running Suffolk County Threads go??? Anyway any new info on Suffolk roll-outs, primarily Brookhaven? Cablevision service is quickly sliding further and further down the drain. The last time I was in Smithhaven Mall a Verizon rep said early this year, is that still true?

No, unfortunately the Town of Brookhaven is very strongly against allowing Verizon in. Because of that, the expected date is not til 2009 at the earliest.

 They were wiring my area, in Islip (between Moffit Blvd & Sunrise Hwy/Islip Ave. and Wilson Blvd.) since October. I just received a letter in the mail telling me that TV service (no mention of Internet) is available.

Funny thing was, when I checked online it told me it wasn't available.

I'm still not sure if I will be switching over to Fios yet. Pricing has me concerned and don't need phone service (I use AT&T CallVantage). My calculations are that I'd spend close to what I already spend for iO/OOL plus DVR.
