| internet cancelled now no VOD
Because I have a FIOS business drop, I dropped the internet on my residential account and am keeping the TV and phone. It is obvious the cancellation has gone through as I can no longer access any DNS servers. I also now have no VOD. I am not sure about the guide as it stays in buffer for quite some time but probably could not update it if I wanted.
Has anyone seen this before? Tech support just thinks I need to wait a day and see what happens. I am willing to do that but was wondering if anyone had any ideas? |

@verizon.net | Even though you dropped the internet at home, you still have to keep the router connected and powered. VOD and guide info are transmitted through the router. You may still have guide for a while but you will lose that eventually too. |

| Take a look in the router and look for a 10.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address (or any IP address for that matter) then take a look in the STB menu under UPSTREAM Modem for an IP address.
Turn off all the equipment in, STBs, Router, and then go unplug the PSU and pull the battery from the BBU. Make sure everything is dead for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, plug in the PSU, then Battery. Let the ONT boot up then go fire up the router. Then power up the STBs.
How were you able to get TV with a business drop? It has not been available. Do you work from home and use residential for business? |

| reply to Capt_video Thanks for the responses. I have a copy of the diagnostics from about 6 months ago and there is no difference in any of the settings except the expected ones dealing with date and times, etc. The router is a D-Link with a NIM and I don't even mess around with that one. VZ reset it this morning but it had no effect. Of course I had already reset it before calling them.
I got a call from Verizon a few minutes ago that they will troubleshoot the problem and that they think it is at their end. I will wait and see what the issue is and if it makes sense will post it here.
And, yes I have two drops for the house, one is a 5 static IP business connection and the other is my residential with the phone and TV on it. Both my kids are gone now and The residential connection had not been used for two months so why pay for it. All my work, and play, is done on my business connection. |
