| reply to syoder Yep, here we go again. 2 days of good, now the crap starts again. So SLOWWWWWWWW...Ping times are okay, but throughput sucks. Have 5.0 service here at the office and getting around 1 MB. Sometimes even slower than that.

| reply to syoder well i was on the phone with them the other day and i asked them about the latency which started at sprintlink routers. they told me that the problem was with sprint and not them and theres nothing they can do about it.
Well didn't embarq and sprint merge? and im paying for 3 megs and getting 100-400ms tracerts... I really hope they fix this fast. and stop BSing me around because it worked perfectly before and now its no good. |

Kim K Unfortunately since the latency you're experiencing isn't on our network, the embarqhsd.net hops, it's out of our control. 8:12:54 PM Bryan didnt embarq and sprint merge? 8:13:38 PM Kim K No we actually split. We at one time were all Sprint. About 2 years ago Embarq branched off from sprint and became it's own company. 8:14:43 PM Bryan oh well is there some way embarq could get incontact with a represeative from sprint and ask them what the problem is? The outage was cleared, however since you guys are reporting the same problem I would like to investigate this issue further. I need to collect data samples from anybody who is still having this issue to be able to escalate to the engineering department. Please send me your phone numbers via personal message or email only and the speeds/latency you are getting. Please include the site or method you used to run the speed test. Also, you may want to run a speed test using one of our dedicated FTP servers. Please follow this link for the IP address of the server in your location. To run the test follow these steps: 1- Click start, run and type: ftp 205.244.194.35 and click OK 2- Type ftp and hit enter 3- Type ftp and hit enter one more time. | reply to syoder ya deff hope u can help us out embarq told me to tray talking to sprint about their routers in which i did actually call them and they told me that they didnt have such routers, and to talk to embarq again. I haven't dont that just because i alrady know what they were going to say so I did some research and they belong to some other company but dont remember off hand.

Then I join a game and after about 1 min they go up to 500-1000 and I usually cant get them back down for the rest of the day. I was told to bridge my modem and it helped for a few minutes. Dose this mean my modem is bad? Also, embarq tech support is making me mad here lately. Every time I talk to them they turn me off fasthpath and say they have fixed a problem with my connection. They only usually make it worse. So, then I have to get back on support and they turn me back on. Or they just say "I haven't herd from you in the last _ minutes. Do you wish to continue?"... and then end the chat session. |

| If you play online games, it definitely helps. It will shave 30ms-40ms off your first embarq hop. For Lapel, it seems to put you around 32ms-33ms to your first embarq hop. I don't know why latency is so bad here. Seems most areas are getting single digits to their first embarq hop with fastpath.
Could one of the Embarq techs explain why this is for our area? |
