Re: but but but

They never advertise having 3 times as many HD "channels"; they advertise more HD content choices...which is true. A customer has access to more HD content, at any given time, than DTV and Dish Net. Personally, I like the idea of being able to access HD on OnDemand, rather than hoping something of interest would be available on DTVs line-up...which doesn't include 85+ unique channels anyway.

Then why is there a scale of HD networks on that one dumb one that's on every 10 minutes?

Sorry, but that is a crock. My parents have Comcast HD, and when I showed them the HD I have with Directv, they were shocked. They would prefer all their locals were in HD through the Comcast system instead of a OTA antenna. While the In Demand HD channels are nice, they would prefer to have more channels like Science HD and Discovery HD (which isn't available to them yet).

This whole HD content thing used to be easy to figure out. Now you have Comcast counting HD Indemand PPV channels as content. Well, thats all fine and dandy, but it should be graded in terms of channels.

@comcast.net

its not indemand ppv because comcast dont have indemand ppv in hd. they only have ondemand hd content.some you pay for some you dont. i prefer hd on demand then just hd channels because i like picking what i want to watch when i want to watch it instead of settleing for whats on the current hd channel at the time. but for old people i can see your point. older people have a harder time getting use to ondemand.

If you read the fine print for DirecTV they include the number of HD PPV channels in the overall total HD channels.

Taken from their own site: "In addition to the channel logos included here, the total channel count includes fifteen HD Pay Per View channels, and eight HD DNS channels."

I know, and as I said before, it should be based on HD channels. Not PPV channels or PPV movie and event "content".
