Router setup for Wireless?

My father recently subscribed to Xpress package.
Has a Linksys router. Having a heck of a time setting it up. Tech support no help.
The odd time it does connect through the router, it disconnects an hour or two later.
Has anyone been able to connect through a Linksys router?
Please tell me how you did it (settings, etc.).
Thanks very much.

I got this service in Oct/07. The tec support is awfull. I am on kabang- 1.5 Mbps &300 Kbps. down load speed seems ok, but up load is slower than dial up. I pay $134.99 per month and my Linksys router times out on me. Don't ever get Xplornet not worth it. They have a license to steal.

I'm using an SMC Barricade router on the Kazam service with no problems. Sorry, I don't know anything about Linksys. You might try asking here: »www.satsig.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB···wildblue

You could try DDWRT for the router (Linux firmware that replaces Linksys' flawed firmware). I had the problem with disconnects previously. After DDWRT it was fine (until they changed the hardware in a nearby tower that gives me my wireless internet). In the end I got a Belkin for $30 and never looked back.
