| reply to Oleg Re: Newegg's Rush Processing
said by Oleg :Will Newegg's Rush Processing speed up my order? I have ordered from Newegg for years now, and I think I've done it once. I don't think it matters. I've ordered stuff as late as 2PM eastern, and it's been shipped out the same day.
Assuming I take the standard UPS shipping, if it's from PA, I get it the next day. If it's from TN, I get it in 2 days. California, 3 days.
If you really need something super quick, change the shipping method. I don't think the "rush processing" has any effect--they are quick little devils there at NE. -- And so castles made of sand, slip into the sea, eventually.

They mention the rush processing in there and how it works. Real cool read, I love Newegg! |

| reply to Oleg there was a video floating around about what an order goes through at NewEgg. All the items of an order are loaded into blue tubs on big long conveyer belts. If you opt for rush processing, your bin is red and they fill red orders before the blue ones. -- I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person! |

| reply to Oleg *shrugs* My newegg orders have always been processed lickety-quick. Hell, I order their 3-day saver, and more often than not, the product is at my door in only one or two.
So rush processing...I'd have to give it a pass. They're already quick enough, you don't need to throw them the extra dough to be even quicker. |

| reply to Tursiops_G said by Tursiops_G :It depends on just how far you are from NewEgg's closest Regional Warehouse (California, Tennessee, New Jersey, etc.) -Tursiops_G. Not for me it doesn't. While I live in TN, I have never gotten ANYTHING from the TN warehouse, it always comes from CA, yet I have to pay the darned 10 percent TN taxes! I don't shop from them now because of it, and because there are so many other great dealers too. -- You know your life has gotten "DICEY" when it turns into an episode of LOST, like my ex wife, who I swear is one of "The Others". | reply to Oleg I would rush process only on your very first order from newegg, simply because most online retailers take extra time to make sure your credit card and shipping information isn't bogus. but once you've ordered with your login account a few times, I doubt rush processing will matter unless you order from them late in the work day. |

| reply to Packeteers I requested rush processing for an order that I submitted in the afternoon and wanted to ship that day. As best that I could tell the only difference in processing was to pocket the extra fee. Although the order was processed and my credit card was charged, it didn't ship until the next day. I believe that Newegg releases orders destined for the northeast to the same distributor in Pennsylvania that fulfills orders for other vendors. |

| reply to Oleg I did have a problem with rush order once. I ordered on a Sat. morning. 8am EST. UPS invoice was 3pm Sun. UPS picked up 11am Mon.
I negected to remember that I paid for Rush and asked about it 2 weeks after delivery. Was told I had to request the refund within 7 days.
I saved more than the Rush fee in the sale and free shipping of the 2 items so it wasn't a big loss. I'm still happy with their service, do order from them, but won't do Rush any more. There really is no need for it. -- The Revolutionary War was fought over a 14% tax, what % are you paying now? |

Only the US Postal Service is closed and even then certain high level deliveries are still made (USPS even has Christmas Day deliveries). UPS and Fedex both have normal deliveries on Pres day.
Fedex Ground Residential I don't believe delivers on Monday's anyway, they include Saturday as part of their normal delivery week (Tues-Sat, off Sun and Mon). |

| reply to Oleg i just ordered 1600 bucks of pc parts from Amazon. some of those items qualified for the "super saver free shipping". what a fucking joke. the order was made 10 days ago, and i have everything but my mobo, psu, vid card and dvd drive. guess what items where the super saver items?
i swear i will never use that option again. i dont care how much it shows as saving me. |

| reply to Oleg I've never had a problem with NewEgg, but in my case the rush fee has never made any perceptible difference in how the order is prioritized. I've tried various order-timing strategies (place the order at 5:00 A.M. on a Monday, etc.), and it's hit-and-miss whether the California warehouse has it ready for UPS the same day. I keep adding the rush fee because it's insignificant and because my heart is full of hope. I'm sure they love customers like me. |

| reply to Oleg I've generally used RP when I've made a high priced order.
There have been two times in which either UPS dropped the ball or had issued.
The first time it happened a shipment was routed to PA for whatever reason which resulted in a delvery delay, and the 2nd time I had selected Next Day the UPS jet had a mechanical failure which delayed delivery by 1 day.
Both times Newegg refunded my money without question. |

| Rush processing never really made it quicker for me. I usually order Thursdays or Fridays (after the paycheck ). I either get it Tuesday the next week if shipped from NJ/TN or Thursday if it's from CA. The occasional times I do order Monday/Tues, I always get it before the weekend. |

Fedex Ground Residential I don't believe delivers on Monday's anyway, they include Saturday as part of their normal delivery week (Tues-Sat, off Sun and Mon). Interesting to know. I've gotten two things on a Saturday from Fedex and was surprised since I didn't pay extra for the Saturday service.
I've used Newegg rush processing once but they seem to be pretty quick about processing orders anyhow so I don't use it. If I know I am going to order something I usually try to order before noon my time and I know for sure it will be sent that day. I ordered stuff on Friday at 2:30PM EST and it was shipped that day.
The UPS standard 3-day seems to be pretty quick. I think it may have something to do with the fact it goes through their hub in Louisville, Ky. So from CA by plane to Louisville and then a truck up I-71 to me takes usually only two days. TN and NJ orders usually get here in two days too.
The UPS price is also a lot cheaper for whatever reason. The last order I bought was about 11 lbs and it only cost $7.63, but Fedex shipping was $22. I don't think I've used Fedex since Newegg began to offer UPS. |
