According to an analyst form [sic] Computer Associates, the trojan, called Mocmex, is able to____________ [fill in the blank]

The analyst left out an important step: Before it is able to do anything, this trojan has to get installed and execute.

I'm safe, at least in regards to the picture frame. I would never buy such a thing.

That's what I thought. But somebody gave us one as a gift.

I don't know that there is a problem, though I have not yet connected to a computer.

You don't necessarily need to directly connect one of those devices to your computer to get an infection. If you insert your camera's memory card or a USB flash drive into one of these devices, and then at a later time insert that same memory card or flash drive into your computer with autorun/autoplay enabled (or accidentally leave it inserted and reboot a computer with USB/flash drive boot capabilities)....

Remember the old days when the sneaker net was the most common infection source? Everything old is new again, flash memory cards and USB flash drives are the new floppy disks.

This is why regular backup images should be a common practice. Of course I'm sure someone will release a individual program that cleans it up.

I think the picture frames (in general) are great. Like someone said, backup your stuff. There's no excuse not to.

I looked and it can't do much of anything NetFixer See Profile that's right!

Once again we might enlighten a few folks regarding ActiveX, Java and Active scripting. I loaded IE Spell because I got tired of spelling errors and I see justin See Profile finally noted the light on spell check.... Funny really, because I noted IE spell caused a 'Hole', but was happy to see where that went [A wealth of info]. Yesterday, I decided to kill the hook.

People buy into BS and that's always a killer...LOL.

We should send them all back to China with a single .jpg message on each:
