| Verizon FiOS (Fiber to the home) is available in my area, but Verizon is only roughly matching what Cox is offering... for the same price. Though a quick look at the Verizon FiOS site shows that they do seem to have a symmetrical 15/15 for $64.99/month. Hmmmm... |

good question...I don't know the speed tiers or pricing yet but my neighborhood will be one of the first to have fiber available...bandwidth speeds will be symmetrical, with 100 Mbps peer-to-peer capability regardless of the service level chosen...internet available as a stand-alone or bundled with discount pricing for bundling...something to think about if it works better

Currently I am using Vonage for phone service, Cox for HSI, and I have no TV subscription. I have an HDTV and can pick up the local HD channels great with an antenna. Depending on what that 3 service package includes and how much it is, I may switch. I read about the 100Mbps local network speed, but I am a bit worried about how this will work security wise. Hopefully it wont be easy for other customers to hack into other peoples systems. |

Now that's a laugh. You can communicate with other LUS Fiber customers at 100Mbps, but what is the probability that what you want is going to be provided by other LUS Customers? About zilch. Of course, they won't provide anything near that to the actual internet because paying those peers and upstream providers is where it hurts.
A+ for the marketing department, though.

It'd be great for businesses, too. I'd love to be able to get a reasonably priced 100Mbps connection across the city. It's too much of a pain to keep WiFi working over a couple of miles, even presuming you have line of sight.
